  (R4, Warner Home Video)
Soaring even higher in a state-of-the-art digital transfer from restored elements and with dynamically remixed digital audio, the Academy Award-winning adventure also now includes eight minutes integrated into the film by director Richard Donner. Enjoy more footage of the Kryptonian Council, a glimpse of stars of prior Superman incarnations, more of Jor-El underscoring his son's purpose on Earth and an extended sequence inside Lex Luthor's gauntlet of doom. Christopher Reeve (Superman/Clark Kent), Marlon Brando (Jor-El), Gene Hackman (Lex Luthor) and Margot Kidder (Lois Lane) give indelible performances that fuel the film's aura of legend. Looks like a swell night for flying. WHy not come along? |

- Superman, which is my favourite movie of all-time, was the second DVD I ever got and watched.
- My copy of the DVD has the signatures of director Richard Donner and creative consultant Tom Mankiewicz on it. This makes it the pride of my DVD collection. I was very lucky to get their signatures on it -- the person who purchased the DVD for me attended a DVD signing that Donner and Mankiewicz were at when the DVD was released and got them to sign the DVD.
