Princess Allura receives word that her aunt, Queen Orla, is coming to the Castle of Lions for a visit. But while en route the queen is captured by Haggar, who then uses her magic to disguise herself as Orla in order to gain entry to the Castle of Lions and kill Allura. Thanks to the uncharacteristic behaviour of the mice towards the disguised witch and the presence of her cat in the castle, the Voltron Force, except for Allura, become suspicious of Orla.

When Voltron was dubbed from Golion, the series suffered a number of edits, mostly to remove material that was considered objectionable or inappropriate for Voltron. However, some of the deleted material was intended to be featured in the series only to wind up on the cutting room floor anyway. This section details what deleted material was intended to be featured in "The Witch Gets A Facelift". Also detailed here are lines of dialogue that was scripted (and likely recorded) but not present in the episode.

- Deleted from the pan up shot of Allura wearing only a towel and looking embarassed was a humorous line of dialogue from the off-screen Lance: “You're a real Princess! I'd follow you anywhere!”
- Deleted from the first pan in shot or Orla and her ladies-in-waiting in their carriage prior to Haggar appearing in front of her procession was a line of dialogue from one of Orla's guards: “Your Highness, stay in the carriage!”
- King Alfor's only line in the episode was originally a bit longer. The full line as presented in the script: “You are wrong, Haggar! I, King Alfor, have the power to break your magic!”

Some lines of dialogue were originally scripted differently. This section details the noteworthy differences.
|
- Pidge's line “After all this time Nanny hasn't learned how to courtesy to a Queen!” was originally scripted as: “After all this time Nanny hasn't learned how to bow to a Queen!”
- Pidge's line “That'll bring Haggar out in a hurry!” was originally scripted as: “That'll smoke Haggar out in a hurry!”
